Katherine Rossiter, Mary-Elizabeth O'Neill, Christopher Remkus, and Nathaniel Sullivan—members of the Bard College Conservatory of Music Graduate Vocal Arts Program—will present the recital Between Suffering and Hope: Songs for the Forgotten on Sunday, November 6th at 4:00pm at the Hudson Opera House in Hudson, NY. As the holiday season approaches, this program aims to increase awareness of those in our community who are in need.

To this end, the performers are pleased to partner with the Jayne Brooks Memorial Food Pantry—an outreach ministry of the Church of the Messiah in Rhinebeck, NY—in order to help provide aid to these members of our society. Admission to the recital is free of charge; however, a monetary and non-perishable food donation will be taken at the door. 100% of the donations received at the recital will go directly to the Jayne Brooks Memorial Food Pantry. A representative from the pantry will attend the recital to collect donations.

The recital will be structured around selections from the 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning composition the little match girl passion for solo quartet and percussion, by composer David Lang, based on the Hans Christian Andersen tale of an impoverished child's tragic New Year's Eve journey. It is sure to a beautiful, meaningful, and reflective experience for all involved.
